Last month, an Arizona man left Las Vegas, unaware that he had won a $229,368 slot machine jackpot.
Now, the Nevada gambling regulators have found the man after an investigation was conducted.
Robert Taylor was playing a machine that malfunctioned because of a “communication error.” Neither he nor the Treasure Island Hotel & Casino knew that he was a winner of the jackpot on January 8.
Later on after an analysis, the jackpot was confirmed. However, Taylor had gone back to Arizona, and the casino couldn’t identify him.
After two weeks of checking camera footage, interviewing people, studying electronic purchase records, and looking over ride-sharing information, Taylor was located.
On January 28, Taylor was notified and will retrieve his winnings at the casino this weekend.
“This has been a great example of government working together for the benefit of the public,” stated an official.
