A woman from Tennessee has received hate for gifting her brother a pair of dissolvable swim shorts and posting a video of his embarrassment.
Dara Roberts conducted the evil prank last month and posted it to TikTok. The video has been viewed 28 million times and viewers do not find it funny.
The clip starts with Dara’s brother, Seth, wearing the blue bathing shorts she gave to him. He has no idea that the pants will dissolve as soon as they get wet. He then is wading in the water at a busy beach unaware of what is coming. Seth is then seen throwing around a football as he realizes his swimsuit is melting away.
“My swimming trunks ripped… bad,” Seth says panicking as he grabs his private parts under water.
Dara can be heard laughing hysterically as she continues to record her brother in distress.
“Quit videoing me. I’m serious,” Seth says. “I’m naked!”
Seth refused to get out of the water until someone brings him something to wear and tells his family that he’s worried he could get in trouble. Seth still had no idea what had been done to him and the prank his sister pulled on him.
Dara posted the video to TikTok and captioned it, “We still haven’t told him the truth. Seth, if you see this. I’m sorry.”
Viewers were not pleased with her. They commented, telling her she could have got him in trouble and also that it was not appropriate for a public place. Majority of the viewers also felt like she humiliated her brother.
Dara brushed off the criticism and posted another video of herself with the song “I Hate U” by SZA over it. She captioned the video “@ the overly sensitive TikTok users.” Viewers continued to comment and tell her how horrible of a prank it was.
Dara has not responded furthermore to any backlash. Seth has also not responded or commented on the viral video.
