Man Fatally Shot In The Parking Lot Of A Dallas Apartment Complex

Dallas police are investigating a robbery/ shooting in an apartment complex that left a man dead.

Officers responded to a robbery/ shooting call around 12 a.m. on the 2700 block of W. Jefferson Blvd.

Upon arrival officers found the victim, Eric Montez, 25 laying in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

According to reports Montez and a witness were approached in the parking lot by a male demanding money and property.

When he realized the victim or witness has money he shot Montez, took his phone and fled on foot.

The suspect still remains at large. This investigation is ongoing.
