A retired woman was taking a walk like she did everyday. Then, a Michigan driver hit and killed her with his truck.
Authorities say that Colby Martin, 29, struck 64-year-old Melody Rohrer so that he could have sex with her body.
On Wednesday, Martin was arraigned on the new charges of murder after pleading guilty of manslaughter and concealing a body in September.
Martin hit Rohrer on September 20 as she was close to Oak Shores Campground. Police say that he then transported the body to a remote location in order to commit sex acts with it.
The next day, Martin showed detectives where they could find Rohrer’s body.
After analyzing DNA evidence found on condoms and Martin’s searches on his computer, the new murder charges were filed. The information on the computer detailed Martin’s inquiries on pornography involving dead or unconscious women.
The day after the offense, Martin’s vehicle was located with extensive damage to the front-end when he was approached at a Walmart.
Documents note that he was in possession of the woman’s cellphone and tried to hide other evidence at that time.
Martin was let go on a $300,000 bond the first time he was arrested. Now, he has been apprehended again with no bond.
