According to statements, a groom to be tragically drowned in a Brazil River while celebrating the engagement with his fiancée and their friends Monday.
Twenty four year old Joao Guilherme, died trying to swim across Sorocaba River in Sao Paulo moments after posing for pictures with his bride to be Twenty five year old Larissa Campos.
A heartbreaking image was captured through the photos just moments from the incident occurring, the image was of the young couple sharing a kiss before he jumped into the river with his friends.
Larissa stated to G1 News that “After the kiss, he took off his shirt and went into the water along with our close friends and he asked me to wait for him.”
The plan was to make it to the other side of the river, but everyone except her fiancée and brother in law gave up. Her fiancée was described as an excellent swimmer.
Larissa stated that almost an hour and a half after emergency crews arrived, the divers found his body. His death has left her devastated.
Larissa stated, All I think and dream about is him. Now all I have left are memories of everything we lived and dreamed of experiencing together.”
