Man Driving Power Wheels Jeep Arrested For Operating A Vehicle While Impaired

1.2kviews

31-year-old John McKee, of Vincennes, Indiana, has been accused of driving a Power Wheels Jeep while impaired on Wednesday evening.

McKee was pulled over by a trooper who had been patrolling a road in Knox County.

The trooper had seen someone driving a Power Wheels Jeep without lights or reflectors on it, and he almost didn’t see it.

The trooper also noted that McKee was exhibiting signs of impairment and didn’t pass field sobriety tests.

After being taken to a medical facility, it was found that McKee was under the influence of methamphetamine and marijuana, officials say.

He was apprehended and transported to the Knox County Jail. McKee has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) with a prior conviction. Previously, he had been found guilty of operating a vehicle while impaired.

Power Wheels Jeep, made by Mattel, are battery-operated, ride-on vehicles designed for children. An owner’s manual warns against using the toy at night or on any street where cars are moving.
