On Wednesday, a man was killed after he fell out of a vehicle that was hit by several cars on Interstate 20 in Arlington.

At about 12:40 a.m., officers answered to the eastbound lanes of I-20, close to East Loop 820 after getting multiple calls about someone possibly being struck. Authorities discovered the remains of a man who was found in the road.

Detectives think that a 2008 Buick Lucerne was going east on I-20, veered, and struck a road construction barrier. This led to the driver losing control and spinning across the freeway. The front passenger door of the Lucerne flew open, and the victim tumbled onto the ground.

Following that, the Lucerne then struck a concrete barrier on the right side of the expressway. The driver was hurt and was transported to a medical facility. He is expected to survive.

The Lucerne’s passenger was struck by multiple cars while he was lying on the road. The drivers who struck him won’t be charged, authorities say.

The man who died will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

An investigation is continuing.
