Man Dead After Officer Involved Shooting In Garland

A man was shot and killed by Garland police in a Dollar General parking lot late Friday night.
According to reports officers responded to a call of a man wanting to commit suicide at the 800 block of West Centerville and when they arrived they found Russ Allen McClellan,48 sitting in a white truck.
Police attempted to communicate with McClellan for hours before he grabbed his gun and pointed it at the officers.
At that time two of the responding officers opened fire striking McClellan who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Both officers have been placed on paid administrative leave until detectives have completed the investigation.
