Man Convicted After Shooting His Ex Girlfriend In The Head Two Years Ago

A Georgia judge sentenced a man to 25 years in prison and an additional 5 years probation when he gets out for the 2017 shooting of his ex girlfriend Thursday.
According to reports Nicole Gordon now 42 and her ex boyfriend Jerrontae D. Cain now 39 were arguing in the car and she remembered glass shattering in her face and going in and out of consciousness before waking up in Cain’s car and going to his mothers house because of a head injury.
After two months of severe headaches, memory loss and trouble communicating a friend took Gordon to the hospital where she found out there was a bullet lodged in the back of her head.
Doctors told her they could not remove the bullet because trying to remove it could kill her.
When officers spoke with her then boyfriend he told police he was there during the incident and that Gordon crashed into a tree.
Doctors spoke with detectives and said her injuries were consistent with a gunshot wound to the head.
Police later received a tip that Cain was hiding out inside an attic.
After a two hour standoff Cain surrendered to police and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
