A man has been charged after an 11-year-old boy was found dead, and a pregnant woman was found harmed in Chicago. The man had just been released on parole the day prior to the attack.

On Friday, the suspect appeared in court. Then, relatives of the victims tried to charge at the man. This resulted in a fight with deputies in the courtroom and apprehensions.

On Wednesday morning, 11-year-old Jayden Perkins and his 33-year-old pregnant mother were attacked in the 5900 block of North Ravenswood Avenue.

Officers discovered the boy with a wound to the chest. The woman had several stab wounds, authorities say.

Police stated that the boy attempted to protect his mother from the attacker before he was killed.

Records show that 37-year-old Crosetti Brand was released on parole the day prior to the attack. Additionally, the victim had an order of protection against him.

It was reported that the suspect had been on parole after being sentenced to prison for 16 years due to a home invasion. He had also been on an electronic monitor.

Brand has been charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder, and three counts of home invasion with a dangerous weapon. He also faces charges of one count of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of aggravated domestic battery, and more.

Authorities say that the mother and Brand had a relationship 15 years ago but didn’t release any more information.

The 33-year-old mother is still pregnant. She is being treated at a medical facility as she has been listed in critical condition. The woman’s six-year-old son was also at the residence during the stabbing but was unharmed.

Detectives say that a recording depicts the suspect fleeing from the scene with the knife used in the occurrence. Brand was apprehended hours after the attack.
