Authorities in Alton, Illinois, say that a man beheaded his pregnant ex-girlfriend at her residence.
22-year-old Deundrea Holloway has been charged with two counts of intentional homicide of an unborn child and one count of dismembering a human body. He was also charged with concealment of homicidal death and motor vehicle offenses.
On June 9, close to 1 p.m., authorities arrived to the 3400 block of Bolivar Street after receiving a call about a possible homicide.
Then, 22-year-old Liese A. Dodd was discovered dead in the home. The woman’s mother had initially found her after not hearing from her daughter and going to check on her welfare.
Police say that Holloway killed Dodd and placed her head in a dumpster. The two had been a couple, on and off for two years. Dodd was expecting to have a baby in July and had been preparing for her baby shower at the end of this month.
Holloway was apprehended in Gillespie, Illinois. He is in custody at the Alton Police Department and has a $2 million bond.
A motive for the killing is unknown at this time.
