Man Caught Brutally Attacking Woman In Deep Ellum Arrested

The suspect of a violent attack downtown Wednesday night has been arrested for assault with intent to cause bodily injury.
According to police records Austin Shuffield,30 was arrested late Wednesday night after he violently attacked a 24 year old woman for allegedly blocking him in a parking spot as he tried to leave, when she went the wrong way downtown near Elm Street.
Shuffield then stepped out of his vehicle and approached the woman before knocking her phone out of her hand and she then reacted by punching him.
Several witnesses recorded the suspect punching the woman in her face repeatedly and then kicking her phone violently on the ground.
When police finally arrived Shuffield was arrested and taken into custody and charged with assault causing bodily injury, interference with an emergency call and public intoxication.
Shuffield remains in jail custody on a $2000 bond.
He has since been fired from his bartending job downtown as well.
