An investigation into an alligator attack is occurring in Slidell, Louisiana.
The attack transpired in the man’s home. His wife told authorities that her husband had gone into a shed that contained several feet of water due to Hurricane Ida. She then heard a disturbance and swiftly ran down and found the 71 year-old being attack by the alligator.
The woman sought assistance after pulling the man up the stairs and witnessing his many injuries. She used a boat to get help because water encompassed the house, and she couldn’t get a cellphone connection. She stated that when she got back home, the man was nowhere to be found.
Crews looked for six hours but didn’t find him. He is believed to be dead.
The residence is close to Lake Pontchartrain. It has been said that 7 foot gators are common in that area because people give them food.
