A man was arrested over the weekend in connection with a shooting that killed a woman and left 8 others injured.
On April 13, around 11:10 p.m., officers responded to a call regarding shots being fired on the 4500 block of Collins Avenue.
When officers arrived they noticed a large crowd of people but no shots were being fired. Officers stayed around to monitor the area.
Around 1:35 a.m., multiple shots were fired and 9 people were struck, including 2 women and 7 men. All victims were transported to area hospitals by emergency and private vehicles.
One of the women, 21 year old Coriesha Bradford, succumbed to her injuries and the others were treated for non life threatening injuries.
During the investigation officers learned that it was between 40-50 people in the crowd at the time of the shooting.
It was determined that 28 year old Christopher Jones had fired his weapon into the air while shots were already being fired.
On April 20 dallas police arrested Jones and he was charged with deadly conduct and possession of a controlled substance. His bond is set at $80,000.
