A 19-year-old has been taken into custody for the murder of a 16-year-old Denton, Texas, resident.
On Saturday, February 3, at about 11:37 p.m., police and first responders answered to the call of an unconscious person, close to Denia Park.
Someone had reported that a male driver was unresponsive, and a bullet hole was in the window of his car. The 16-year-old was transported to a medical facility where he was declared deceased.
Witnesses and a female passenger, who had been in the victim’s vehicle, all provided the same description of the suspect. It had been someone wearing all dark clothing, but their face couldn’t be identified because they were wearing a ski mask.
During an investigation, 19-year-old Marcus Williams was identified as a person of interest.
After looking at surveillance footage and other evidence, detectives learned that Williams had been following behind the victim’s car the night of the shooting.
William was taken into custody on Wednesday at a business in the 1500 block of W. University Dr.
He is being held in the City of Denton jail.
