34-year-old Carl Jerome Hamilton has been charged with aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and sexually assaulting a female Amazon delivery driver.
On Friday, authorities say that the 25-year-old victim had been delivering packages to 723 President Ronald Reagan Way, in Nashville, Tennessee.
That’s when Hamilton shoved her into the mailroom and closed the door. He then forced her to undress and sexually assaulted her. He then made her get inside of her car with him and drive to an ATM. That’s when he got her debit card and took $100 out of her account. Afterwards, he drove around for a little while prior to leaving her and her vehicle.
A recording at the apartment building showed Hamilton committing the offense. As officers were getting ready to leave the building while investigating, a man wearing the same attire was observed passing by the window. Hamilton was then apprehended and placed in custody.
Because Hamilton had been arrested for criminal trespassing on Jan. 2 and March 5, the apartment building manager was familiar with him.
Authorities stated that Hamilton was charged with 105 offenses since 2007. He was apprehended for kidnapping and robbery in 2020 in connection to his assault of a 24-year-old woman. He was found guilty of those crimes in July 2022 and had gotten a 6-year prison sentence.
