Police have arrested Kendrick Freeney, 23, on murder charges following a shooting that left one man dead in a Winco Foods parking lot.
Investigators learned that Freeney is the brother of the deceased man’s girlfriend. It has been reported that the three individuals got into a verbal altercation before the shooting occurred in the Winco Foods parking lot. There is still an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The Medical Examiner’s Office for Tarrant County will release the victim’s identity once the family has been notified.
On Thursday, July 13th, Denton Police received a report of a shooting in the parking lot of Winco Foods. When officers arrived at the scene they discovered one deceased adult male, who had been shot.
The shooter fled the scene before police arrived. Investigators learned that the male shooter knew the victim however their relationship at the time was unknown.
Freeney is being held in the City of Denton Jail.
Bail has not been set as of yet.
