On Friday July 22, officers arrested a 53 year old man for a murder committed 33 years ago.
The incident happened back in 1989 when officers responded to a deceased person call on the 411 North Frances Street.
Upon arrival authorities located the victim, Mary Hague Kelly, deceased inside her residence. At the time officers found no sign of forced entry but noticed her personal belongings and vehicle missing.
At the time authorities had no suspect(s) but collected DNA samples from her body. A Medical Examiner later determined Kelly’s cause of death was strangulation.
As the investigation continued, on June 28, 2022 DNA results came back from Kelly’s body that matched Rojas.
On July 22, 2022 officers located and arrested David Rojas on capital murder charges. His bond is set at $750,000.
