Man Arrested After Stabbing Pregnant Wife And Throwing 1 Year Old Daughter Off A Cliff

A California father has been charged with murder after he threw his 1 year old daughter over a cliff and stabbed his pregnant wife Thursday.
Officers responded to a stabbing call on the 44100 block of Washington St and Indian Wells and when they arrived they found a pregnant woman suffering from multiple stab wounds from a domestic violence situation.
The woman was taken to a hospital and treated for her injuries and told authorities her husband Adam Slater,49 took their one year old.

After fleeing the scene Slater was involved in a rollover crash on Hwy 74 and when a bystander tried to help get the one year old girl out he stabbed the man and grabbed the baby.
Witnesses told police he then threw the baby over a cliff before trying to flee the scene on foot.
When authorities arrived they found the baby deceased in a ravine and detained Slater.
He was taken to a hospital for minor injuries and charged with first-degree murder, using a knife in the commission of a murder, along with a special circumstance allegation of committing a murder during the commission of a kidnapping, which makes him eligible for the death penalty.
He is also charged with attempted murder, assault on a child under 8 years old resulting in death, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
His bail is set at $1,000,000.
