A Tennessee man has been arrested after he allegedly shot his brother in the head as he slept.
The incident happened Thursday afternoon in a residence in Soddy-Daisy when officers responded to a shooting call.
Upon arrival officers found the victim, Michael Jarrell, unresponsive from a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the boy dead at the scene.
The victims brother, Larry D. Jarrell, told officers he was intoxicated and smoking marijuana while playing with his gun.
He said his brother and another man were asleep in the bed when he shot his brother in the head.
Police arrested Larry at the scene and he’s been charged with criminal homicide and reckless endangerment.
The shooting is still under investigation and officers believe the shooting may have been accidental.
