Man Arrested After Allegedly Kidnapping His Boyfriend And Stealing His Van From Fort Worth To Dallas

A man is in custody after stealing a van with the owner inside and leading police on a wild chase between Fort Worth and Dallas.

The incident began around 7:40 a.m. Friday morning when authorities received a call from a man claiming his boyfriend had taken his van and was driving crazy.

The driver’s call was disconnected but operators were able to get him back on the phone to learn he and the suspect had a physical altercation and he was now in the back of his van.

It was then said that they were getting on I-30 heading towards Dallas. Authorities then began to receive calls from other drivers stating that there was a white van driving erratically with a person hanging out the back waving for help.

Eventually the driver stopped in Dallas near Linfield Rd and Illinois Avenue where Fort Worth contacted Dallas police and they made the arrest.

Fort Worth police later identified the suspect as 29 year old Takim Allah Peden.

He was arrested for an out of town warrant and is facing multiple charges including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and aggravated kidnapping causing bodily injury.

The victim who has not been identified was treated for minor injuries and is said to be doing well.
