After experiencing a severe beating, a 63-year-old woman has died.
The incident occurred at a bus stop in Virginia on June 17. Someone had called authorities after finding the woman with extensive wounds to her upper body. The bus stop was located on the 7800 block of Richmond Highway, in Alexandria.
Michelle Huntley was named as the victim. She had been transported to a medical facility where she was being seen for blunt force trauma.
A week following the beating, Huntley died on June 25.
Chante Antonio Jones, 32, is facing charges in relation to the killing. This comes after an officer noticed him walking down the street a block away from the occurrence. He was wearing clothes that resembled what was worn on the night of the killing. Investigators believe that Jones was the offender. He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and placed in custody with no bond.
Huntley’s autopsy will determine her cause and manner of death.
People around the area say that Huntley was also called, “Mama.” She usually could be seen sleeping at the bus stop. They are upset that someone would do that to an older lady.
