A woman from Louisiana has been taken into custody in relation to the death of a Kansas City sports reporter who was in New Orleans to cover Super Bowl 59.

Authorities in Kenner, Louisiana, announced that Danette Colbert, a resident of neighboring Slidell, was arrested after Adan Manzano was found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Comfort Suites in Kenner.

Reports indicate that Colbert used Manzano’s credit card at several stores throughout the New Orleans area. Additionally, hotel surveillance footage recorded her with Manzano on Wednesday and later seen leaving the hotel room alone on Thursday morning.

While Colbert has not been charged with Manzano’s death, she is facing charges connected to property crimes, including fraud and theft.

Police have noted that Colbert has a prior arrest record which includes allegations of drugging men, stealing cash, and committing fraud through the misuse of credit and debit cards, among other financial crimes.
