The legendary singer behind “Nothing Compared 2 U,” Sinead O’Connor, has died.

It isn’t known where or how she died.

O’Connor dealt with many tragedies,  including the death of her 17-year-old son, Shane, in 2022. Before he died, he had been on suicide watch at an Irish hospital. However, he had gone missing from the medical facility two days prior to his death.

Back in 2016, Sinead, herself, went missing in Chicago and was suicidal.  Later, she was found unharmed. In an interview, she had confessed that she tried to take her own life 8 times in one year.

In 1987, O’Connor’s music career took off with the release of “The Lion and the Cobra,” which was her first album. For this, she received a Grammy nomination for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance and got to the gold status.

On the other hand, her 1990 album, “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got,” with her greatest hit, ” Nothing Compares 2 U,” made her a star.

In 2020, Sinead halted all of her tour dates until 2022 so that she could enter a trauma and addiction treatment program.

But, in June 2021, she stated that she would be retiring.

O’Connor is survived by her three children.

She was 56.
