Kinder Chocolates Recalled For Possible Salmonella Contamination

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stated that Ferrero U.S.A., Inc. is voluntarily recalling two chocolate products distributed in the United States. This is because of possible salmonella contamination.

Customers in Europe consumed products from the same location. Afterwards,100 cases of salmonella were reported. As a result, Ferrero is recalling the products in order to take precautions.

In the U.S., Kinder Happy Moments Chocolate Assortment and Kinder Mix Chocolate Treats baskets are also being recalled.

The Kinder Happy Moments Chocolate Assortment comes in a 14.1-ounce square box with a lid. It has a best-by date of July 18, 2022. They were available for purchase at Costco in the Bay Area and Northern Nevada and BJ’s Wholesale Club stores. The back panel of the recalled products have lot numbers 48RUP334, 48RUP335, 48RUP336, and 48RUP337.

The Kinder Mix Chocolate Treats Baskets are found in a 5.3-ounce cardboard basket. They have a best-by date of July 30, 2022. They were also bought at 14 Big Y Supermarket stores in Connecticut and Massachusetts. The lot number for this recalled product is 03L 018AR-306, it can be located on the back panel.

The FDA encourages anyone who may have bought one of these Chocolate treats to contact Ferrero customer service. This can be done at 1-800-688-3552 or on their website for a product refund.
