On Monday, in Denver, a “killing spree” left four people dead and three people wounded, including a law enforcement officer.
Around 5 p.m., four people were shot at two different locations with three of them dying. Gunshots were then exchanged between the suspect and Denver police. The officers were unharmed, but their vehicle was “disabled” by the suspect who then fled.
Then, right before 6 p.m., authorities received a call about an active shooter in the Lakewood suburb. One person was discovered deceased on the scene.
Authorities received information on a suspect vehicle and assailant. They made contact with him, but he was able to evade them, again.
The suspect eventually ended up at a Hyatt Hotel where he shot a clerk who was transported to a medical facility. The clerk’s condition is unknown.
The shooter fled again and was confronted by officers a short time later. The suspect fired his weapon, hitting a police officer who went into surgery on Monday evening.
The suspect was then shot and killed by another officer in the department.
It isn’t known why the shootings took place or how they are connected, at this time.
