Kidd Creole, founding member of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, was convicted of manslaughter in Manhattan, Wednesday April 7.
The Kidd Creole, whose real name is Nathaniel Glover, was on trial beginning in March after stabbing a homeless man in New York City in 2017
The victim, John Jolly, was stabbed twice in his chest with a steak knife in Manhattan in August 2017.
Prosecutors stated Glovers motive for stabbing Jolly twice was because he thought that the homeless man was gay and making a pass at him.
Glover’s attorney explained Glover stabbed Jolly out of self-defense. After a three Hour deliberation, Manhattan jury found Glover guilty of second-degree murder. Sentencing is scheduled for May 4.
Glover has been imprisoned for five years and faces up to 25 years in prison upon sentencing.
Glover denied a plea bargain for a lighter, 10 year sentence before the trial began.
