Justice Department Stops Abbott’s Order To State Troopers

2.2kviews

On Tuesday, a federal judge in El Paso temporarily halted Governor Abbott’s order for state troopers to stop vehicles carrying migrants.

The Justice Department had filed a lawsuit against Abbott and Texas over the matter.

Additionally, the order called for suspicion vehicles to be stopped, searched, and impounded or sent back to where it came.

Abbott had said that this was a way to reduce the spread of Covid as many migrants cross the Texas-Mexico border.

However, the Justice Department said having troopers do this would actually make it worse.

Furthermore, Abbott has been using a variety of methods to reduce the number of migrants from entering the country. This includes using emergency funds.

Those who are apprehended after being stopped are sent to empty state prisons.

It has been reported that this order that Abbott has issued has caused “chaos and confusion. ”
