Jim Carrey Says Chris Rock Should Have Sued Will Smith For $200 Million Over The “Oscars Slap”
Jim Carrey says he would have taken immediate action and sued Will Smith if he would have slapped him at the 2022 Oscars.
Sunday night, Smith walked onto the Oscars stage and slapped Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head. Pinkett Smith has openly discussed her struggles with alopecia, a hair loss condition.
Jim Carrey says he would have announced the following morning that he was suing for $200 million. He explained that the outcome of the slap will always be history. The video will be there forever and the insult will last a life time.
Jim Carrey explained, “You do not have the right to walk up on stage and smack somebody in the face because they said words.”
According to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department, Rock declined to file a police report against Smith following the incident.
