Jennifer King Becomes The Bears’ First Female Coach

1.2kviews

The Chicago Bears have just named their first-ever female coach.

Jennifer King will be the offensive assistant to the running backs coach. This will involve her reporting straight to the new running backs coach Chad Morton.

Prior to taking this new job, King was with the Commanders as an intern and then an assistant running backs coach. She was the first African-American female to be employed as a full-time assistant position coach. King had also previously interned with Ron Rivera in Carolina.

King played for the Women’s Football Alliance and was known as ‘Jet’ to her team. For 12 years, she was a part of the Carolina Phoenix, a division 2 league. Although she was a quarterback, wide receiver, and a safety, being a quarterback is what has helped her get into coaching.

King is one of twelve women who now have the title of full-time coach in the NFL.
