Jam Master Jay’s Accused Killer Recorded Music Video In Front of DJ’s Mural

Karl Jordan Jr., the accused murderer of DJ Jam Master Jay from the iconic rap group Run-DMC, is attempting to be freed from jail on bail.

However, prosecutors say that Jordan shot a music video in front of a mural created of the rapper after he died. Thus, they are against the move of allowing Jordan out on bond.

Jordan, who is accused of killing Jam Master Jay in his studio in 2002, continues to be a danger to society, prosecutors say. In order to prove their point in court, they referred to the song, “Silver Spoon.” In it, he brags about selling drugs and having guns right in front of a painting made for Jam Master Jay in Queens, New York, right after his death.

“I wasn’t born with no silver spoon. I had to grind, grind and get it out the pot. And get it off the block. Get it off the rock… Hustles hard, like the mob, a dealer serving hands like they cards,” are the lyrics to Jordan’s song that were used against him in court.

Defense lawyers would like Jordan to receive a $1 million bail, citing that valid witnesses can confirm that he was at his residence at the time of the murder. They also state that Jordan has health issues that make catching COVID-19 easier.

But, prosecutors say that the witnesses aren’t credible, and Jordan is choosing not to get vaccinated.

If found guilty of the murder of Jam Master Jay, Jordan could get up to 25 years in prison.
