Italy Police Officer Struck By Truck On Interstate 35

An officer from the Italy Police Department was struck by a pickup truck early Monday morning while clearing debris off of Interstate 35 in Ellis County.
The accident happened around 6:30am when the officer was clearing some debris off the highway that was slowing down traffic and the driver of a pickup truck wasn’t paying attention and struck the officer.
Emergency crews rushed out and transported the officer to Methodist Dallas Medical Center with his condition unknown. The driver of the pickup truck suffered no injuries.
