Alex and Franky Venegas, TikTok stars known as the “Island Boys,” had their rental property raided by police in Florida.
The raid resulted in the apprehension of a suspect in connection to a drive-by shooting that killed an 8-year-old girl.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said that the Venegas’ weren’t arrested. However, their acquaintance was taken into custody. That person is murder suspect, Andrew James Thomas.
Alex stated to authorities that Thomas ran in his direction, holding a black gun when SWAT came to the door. He attempted to get Alex to do away with the gun, but Alex wouldn’t.
Officers located the gun in a laundry room closet.
Thomas has been charged with gun possession, violation of probation for a robbery, and first-degree murder for the fatal drive-by shooting.
The manager of the Island Boys said that they had no clue that Thomas, a childhood friend, may have been connected to a drive-by shooting. They said they knew him to be a “quiet kid.”
