Investigation Underway After A Man Was Fatally Shot In South Dallas

Dallas police are investigating after a shooting in South Dallas left a man dead Wednesday evening.

Officers responded to a shooting call shortly after 6 p.m. on the 2700 block of 2nd Avenue.

Upon arrival they found several people trying to render aid to a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency crews arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Authorities spoke with witnesses at the scene that said an unknown male approached the victim and chased him down before shooting him. The suspect then fled the scene before officers could arrive.

The circumstances and motive behind this shooting are unclear at this time. This investigation remains ongoing.
