A drunk driver in Austin struck a pedestrian and continued to drive to a bar with the mangled body inside his car Saturday.
According to reports Paul Joseph Garcia,24 was arrested at Beer Garden after witnesses told police they saw a white Ford Focus driven by Garcia strike pedestrian Lee Martin,55 while he was pushing a cart.
Martin’s body went through the windshield and into Garcia’s front passenger seat where he continued to drive for half a mile with his body inside the car.
Garcia stumbled into a beer garden where the co owner and employees said he was barefoot and appeared distraught.
They refused him service but kept him calm until officers arrived.
When officers arrived they found Martin’s body mangled inside Garcia’s car with body parts missing.
He was arrested and charged with second degree felony intoxication manslaughter.
He remains in custody on a $110,000 bond.
