Influencer Dies After Consuming Over Four Bottles Of Chinese Vodka While Live-Streaming

After drinking over four bottles of a Chinese vodka called, “baijiu,” a 34-year-old online influencer in China has died. This occurred during a live-stream, and the video has circulated social media.

The man from Jiangsu province, called “Sanqiange” on Douyin, had been involved in a live-streaming contest that started at 1 a.m. on  May 16. He was discovered deceased later that day while he had been sitting at a desk at a friend’s residence.

The recording that has gone viral depicts a couple of bottles of baijiu in front of Sanqiange on a desk. He is observed drinking each bottle without stopping. A friend, Zhao, noted that over 100 people had been inside of a chat room with him during this time, but no one expressed any concerns.

Zhao says that Sanqiange was good at live online battles where people attempted to outdrink each other using baijiu. This came about for Sanqiange after a business idea failed four years ago. Additionally, Sanqiange had just begun to use his friend’s room for the battles after neighbors had complained of too much noise.

“It’s very sad that he died alone,” Zhao stated.
