After being discovered unresponsive at an illegal day care, a 6-month-old baby girl has died.
On Thursday afternoon, paramedics were called to an apartment in Nashville, Tennessee, after a woman dialed 911. The girl was quickly transported to a medical facility where she was declared deceased.
A woman disclosed to authorities that she had fed the infant around 12 p.m. and then placed her down for a nap. However, when she went back later, the infant wouldn’t wake up. The baby, only identified as Madison, was the youngest of three girls whom the woman had also been caring for since they were younger.
Police say that the apartment was an unlawful daycare with over 10 children at the home. The Department of Child Services is now looking into the death and the illegal day care.
Authorities added that the medical examiner will determine the manner of death of the infant. However, no foul play, neglect, nor trauma is suspected.
At this time, no charges have been filed.
