Well-known actor Donald Sutherland has died.
Sutherland, best known for being featured in classics like, “The Dirty Dozen,” “M*A*S*H,” “Animal House,” “Hunger Games,” and many others died on Thursday, in Miami, Florida. He had been suffering from a lengthy illness.
No cause of death has been disclosed at this time.
“With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film,” said his son Kiefer Sutherland.
Donald Sutherland was a father to 5 children, including CAA Media Finance executive Roeg Sutherland.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada, Donald attended Victoria University in Toronto, where he studied drama and engineering. Later, he moved to London where he was enrolled at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
In the mid 1960s, he appeared on British screens in TV series like, “The Saint” and “The Sentimental Agent.”
His most notable credits are “Klute,” “Don’t Look Now,” “The Day of Locust,” “JFK,” “Pride and Justice,” and many more.
Many young people best know Donald for his work as President Snow in the “Hunger Games” franchise.
Donald Sutherland was 88 years old.
