Two Houston police officers were shot while issuing a drug warrant Monday morning.
Senior Police Officer William “Bill” Jeffrey and Sgt. Michael Vance,49 were shot while issuing a warrant on the 5300 block of Aeropark around 7:30am.
Both officers were transported to an area hospital where Jeffrey died from his injuries.
Vance underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
The suspect, Deon Ledet,30 was also killed by officers during the shooting.
According to reports officers knocked on the door and a woman answered before Ledet came out shooting.
Officers returned fire striking the suspect.
No one else in the apartment was injured.
Ledet was wanted for Possession with Intent to Deliver/Manufacture Penalty Group 4-200g and Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1 4-200g.
