A Houston woman is being charged with attempted capital murder after her boyfriend says he witnessed her punching and trying to suffocate her baby.
According to reports Meredith Nicole Deen,20 allegedly punched her 4 month old baby before placing pillows and blankets over her face and sitting on top of her.
Deen’s boyfriend told daycare officials that he witnessed his girlfriend trying to suffocate the baby and had to pull her off. Then he said he heard her yelling why won’t you die already and that she wanted to throw the little girl against the wall.
He also told them on the way to drop the baby off at daycare that Deen attacked him in the car.
Daycare officials notified police and Deen was later arrested and placed under evaluation for suicide watch. 
She remains in custody on a $50,000 bond.
