Houston Man Given Two Life Sentences For Torturing Girlfriend’s Young Children

45-year-old Victor Prado, of Houston, Texas, was sentenced to two life sentences in prison after being accused of abusing his girlfriend’s two children for about a year.

Prado was found guilty of two counts of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury. This is a first-degree felony.

Prado dated a woman who had two children ages three and four. He allowed them to reside in a commercial office building that was located in the 900 block of Cook Road. Prado had worked as as an owner of a moving business in southwest Houston.

Authorities say that Prado would watch the kids as their mother was working.

In May 2020, the children were moved from the home with their mother and transported to a medical facility for an evaluation.

An ovestigation started when a young boy who is now five seemed to be malnourished and weighed under 32 lbs. He also had broken bones, some which were healing, and permanent brain tissue loss.

The young girl was said to have broken bones, intestinal wounds, and bed sores.

Documents also show that both children had pelvic injuries that is usually only consistent with children involved in car accidents.

Prado’s life sentences will run concurrently, but he must serve 39 years in prison prior to being eligible for parole.
