On June 13, the Denton County Sheriff’s Office Human Trafficking Unit and other agencies performed an undercover operation at a Motel 6 located on Lakepointe Drive in Lewisville, Texas.
Detectives acted as escorts via online communications on social media sites.
At about 10:42 a.m., documents show that an Arlington investigator had gotten a text message in relation to an online advertisement. The respondent was said to be 58-year-old Jason Collier of Corinth. He is an ex-fire chief for Highland Village.
Collier is accused of agreeing to take sexual services in exchange for $120. He gave a motel address and room number.
At about 3:41 p.m., Collier had gone to the motel room. Deputies had been inside and had on clothing that revealed that they were sheriff deputies.
Documents show that when authorities went into the room and stated who they were, Collier backed up and said “wait.”
Eventually, a deputy had to put his arms around Collier’s upper body and take him to the ground. This was because he had attempted to flee and wouldn’t obey verbal commands.
However, deputies were able to place him in handcuffs and took him to the Denton County Jail.
13 other people were apprehended in the operation, as well.
The next day, Collier posted a $1,500 bail. On Saturday, he resigned from his role as Highland Village Fire Chief.
