After most of the class didn’t earn their diplomas, a high school in Texas has postponed its graduation.

Only five out of 33 seniors at Marlin High School, close to Waco, completed all of the requirements for graduation as grades or attendance problems affected most students.

In order to give more time for students to complete the requirements, the graduation was moved to June, the school stated.

“…let this be a lesson learned for all. As we continue to go through our annual graduation audit, it’s our obligation to ensure that all students have met all requirements. Support, accountability, & integrity will remain at the forefront,” stated Superintendent Darryl Henson.

The school had just modified their schedule to a four-day school week as they try to lessen absences.

“We are committed to ensuring these strategic shifts benefit students as intended,” he added.
