Henry Ruggs III, a 22 year-old former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver, was driving 156 MPH before he ran into the back of a Toyota at 127MPH, reports say.  A 23 year-old woman died in the accident.

When he appeared in court, a gash on his face and a neck brace were observed on him and on his mugshot.

The computer in his Corvette showed him going extremely fast right before the collision. His car and the Toyota tumbled over 500 feet when they hit each other. The Rav4 then went up in flames.

Police say that Ruggs seemed to be impaired at the site of the occurrence. Additionally, he would not take a field sobriety test. He was transported to a medical facility where his BAC was .161- the legal limit is .08.

Ruggs’s bail is $150,000, and he was charged with DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm and reckless driving. He can’t drink alcohol, can’t drive, and has to wear an ankle monitor.
