Next week, H-E-B will begin constructing its second Joe V’s Smart shop in Dallas. The store is expected to open in spring 2025.
On March 20, at 5204 S. Buckner Boulevard, on the southwest corner of the intersection of Samuell Boulevard in Dallas, a ground-breaking will take place. The 11-acre property was purchased in 2014 and is where H-E-B will build the store.
The area has mostly been occupied by a Walmart Supercenter, Sam’s club, and a Walmart Neighborhood Market. The Joe V’s will be constructed across from the Sam’s Club.
The first Joe V’s in Dallas is expected to open at the end of summer inside a former Albertsons store at 4101 West Wheatland Road in southern Dallas.
Joe V’s has already started the hiring process for the Wheatland Road store which will have over 200 workers.
In 2010 H-E-B founded the format, and these stores are the first ones outside of Houston. They advertise the lowest prices in the market in relation to fresh foods.
Joe V’s stores provide amenities like H-E-B stores, including an in-store bakery that makes tortillas everyday and butchers cutting and packing fresh meat inside of the store, as well.
