Greenville Man Given Life Sentence For Human Trafficking

974views

On Friday, Jeffery Barrett was found guilty of human trafficking in Greenville, Texas.

It only took a Hunt County jury 25 minutes to deliberate.

Authorities say that Barrett put his adopted children through continual abuse. He isolated, coerced, and forced them to work at his puppy mill farm for many years. They weren’t allowed to attend school.

After a raid, the puppies were placed with the SPCA, and the children were taken from the home.

Barrett was given a life sentence and a $10,000 fine.

His wife had already been given a 99-year sentence for continual trafficking of kids.

“There is no excuse for this evil behavior. It will not be tolerated in our state,” said Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton.
