An officer-involved shooting on Saturday night has left one woman dead.
The Grand Prairie Police Department responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Tripoli Trail for a domestic disturbance call just after 7 p.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived at the scene, the female victim escaped through a front window of the house and ran to the officers for safety.
Shortly after, the suspect, a woman who has not been identified at this time, emerged from the residence with a handgun. According to GPD, the woman aimed the gun at the officers and the victim.
One of the officers fired his service weapon at the woman, striking her. Life-saving measures were then taken, however, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The officer involved was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
