Governor Greg Abbott Issues Mandated Face Covering In Texas

2.8kviews

Governor Greg Abbott issued a mandated face covering requirement Thursday that will go into affect at 12:01pm Friday.
Abbott’s order requires all Texans to wear a face covering over their nose and mouth in public places in counties that have 20 or more positive cases of COVID-19.
He’s also allowing county judges and mayors to impose restrictions on outdoor gatherings of 10 people or more and that they maintain six feet of social distancing.
First time violators will be given a verbal or written warning for a first-time violator of the face covering requirement. A person’s second violation can result in a fine of up to $250 but local law enforcement can not arrest you.
