Google Map Now Tells Where Police Are Hiding With It’s New App

In 2019 apple released iOS 13, which came with a new app called Shortcuts.
This app allows you to create morning routines, play music when you arrive to certain locations, etc.
But Robert Petersen of Arizona developed a shortcut, called Police, that could be beneficial in this generation.
Upon installation of the shortcut, all you have to say is “Hey Siri, I’m getting pulled over.” The shortcut pauses music that’s playing, turns down brightness on your device, and enables the “do not disturb” feature.
It also sends a small text to a contact that you have previously chosen and initiates recording using the front facing camera. Once the recording is over, the shortcut allows you to text or email the video to a contact you have chosen and save it to another app, Dropbox.
“ it seemed to me that if you’re getting pulled over it couldn’t hurt to have a recording of the incident,” Petersen wrote in a direct message on Tuesday. “ The police these days in many places have body cams, so this could be the civilian equivalent.”
Petersen did not base this shortcut on existing apps, he was enlightened by projects by different digital-rights groups such a Electronic Frontier Foundation.
Petersen has mostly received positive feedback and some people have suggested using this shortcut in other dangerous situations.
“One woman planned on using the shortcut to help with a stalker issue she was having with an ex-boyfriend so that she could send her location to family quickly should anything occur,” Petersen said. “ that’s one of the great things about Shortcuts: anyone can edit a shortcut someone else has made to suit their specific needs,” he continued. For those interested in creating your own shortcuts, Petersen gives advice. “ The platform has a lot of potential, and if you read the Apple user guides and consult with others on forums, or just look at how other peoples shortcuts work and “reverse engineer” them to your own needs, you can learn a lot quickly,” he said.
