Georgia Teen Arrested After Scamming Over $980,000 From Kroger

Investigators have arrested a Gwinnett County teen accused of swindling hundred of thousands of dollars from Kroger, the grocery store brand.
Investigators with the Gwinnett County Police Department say Tre Brown, 19, Scammed over $98,000 from Kroger where he worked on Steve Reynolds Blvd.
In as little as two weeks, Officials believe Brown created upwards of 40 returns for items that did not exist ranging from $75 to more than $87,000.
Investigators reported Brown would take the money from the returns and put them on credit cards, using the money to buy clothes, guns, shoes, and even two vehicles, one of which he totaled out.
Officials began investigating Brown after Kroger employees noticed these odd transactions. After his arrest, investigators were able to return a large amount of money from the alleged theft.
Brown is currently charged with theft by taking.
